how do i do it?! oh god you will be my most favoritest person in the world if i can get these back.

Go to Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. Once you're there you should have 2 choices: Restore My computer to an earlier time and Create a restore point....you would obviously want the first choice. From then on it should be fairly easy to follow along with the wizard.

Doesn't that just restore the registry and Windows system DLLs?

thats what my bf just told me.. :-/

Really? It only brings back the registry? I could have sworn I've used it before and it brought back entire apps that had been removed....guess I was mistaken. Oh well, like I said I haven't used it all that much (I've actually got it disabled on my PC) so it was a shot in the dark.

That totally sucks.. although it's a good reminder to everybody else to burn all your photos onto CD... In fact, I bought a DVD-R drive about a month ago and 50% of the reason I bought it was so that I'd be able to back up all my digital photos onto one disc.

Have I done it yet? Of course not.

Will burn 'em when I get home... good luck with the recovery but honestly sounds like they're probably gone.
