So a few months ago I bought an 86 Accord & swapped in the engine & transmission from my elk totalled 89 Accord. Everything seemed to go OK, but I wasn't able to drive it because of my vision problems. Lately I've been able to wear contacts consistently, so yesterday I got car insurance, had the title switched, got a trip permit, etc. & drove it home. Everything seemed to work fine.

This morning I go out, start it, turn it around, & notice something is SERIOUSLY wrong. WTF? It was perfect last night. Stop the car, get out (at this point I'm diagonal across a narrow residential street), my front passenger side tire is completely flat. Not low, totally flat. Fvck, here I am blocking the street with a completely flat tire.

So, I gently turn it around again & get it as close to the curb as I can. The tire is now off the rim. So, I figure I've got at least 1 really screwed tire, & possibly one really screwed wheel.

What are the odds that I did damage to the wheel? I literally just managed to turn the car around, then turn it back around & put it back where it was. But, it was on pavement...

Bah. I have a cab coming now, at least I won't be late to work but I FREAKING HATE CARS.

Even if you did, wouldn't you be able to get a rim from a junkyard for pretty cheap? I would assume they would have 80's Accords there.

Probably, it's just something I would prefer not to have to deal with.

I went back out & looked at it, it doesn't seem to be too severely damaged. A little scuffed perhaps.

The real problem is going to be getting the spare on, I'm on a steep hill that runs diagonally across the street (which is why I didn't notice the flat), I wouldn't trust a jack.

Get a couple of friends and push it to a place you feel safe. The 80's Accords arent too bad. If you guys are really weak, you may need a fourth person.

You can probably even find OEM rims from people that took thiers off for aftermarket wheels. Hell, my dad sold the wheels and tires from his truck for $400 when he got new ones (steel OEM 8 lug Dodge Ram rims w/ only 200 miles on them). Honda rims are probably so common that you can most likely get a set for $150-200 w/ tires if you look around.

I'll join your sentiments.

Can't figure out how to get the stupid ignition cylinder out of mine to replace it so I can *start* my damn car! :|
