Haha, look at the first comments for one of them, the guy says he OC'ed it to 4.1 Ghz on air. Some people at AMD are paid to say things like that on web-sites or what ?

Nice to see they are actually showing up in the market. Maybe no one else wants them
I want my Phenom AM2 CPU, but first I want to see some benches and then after a 6mo time frame I might be able to afford one

Yeah hah. I would be afraid enough of the stability on a current server motherboard let alone a dual socket. The dual core Barc Opteron looks cheap enough, though I don't know why many would buy a 1.9 when AMD "promises" a 2.5GHz + by the end of the year.

400 for a dual core opteron...I would figure 150-200 dollars for a good clocked Phenom.

I think Anand is waiting to get his hands on the latest revision that will be used in the retail channels. One that actually clocks more than 1.9 GHz.

True about Anand waiting...though it's nothing to do with the clockspeed (he had a 2.5GHz in hand as well). The shipping rev has a major errata fixed that the sample he reviewed did not.

As to the guy on NewEgg, sounds like BS to me too...certainly not with a B1 rev chip!
The B2/B3 rev chips will be the high performance, but the B1 chips (like on NewEgg) are the HE (Highly Efficient) chips and are built for low power and lower clocks. Getting one of those to 4.1 GHz on air shouldn't be at all possible (I might buy 3.1 GHz, but that would be the limit on that rev...). There's also the fact that he wrote that about an 8xxx chip. Who in their right mind buys a 4P system and overclocks like that??? I'm not even sure a 4 socket board has the ability to overclock like that...
And if it wasn't a 4P board, then who is stupid enough to buy an 8xxx chip for a 2P board??

Hey, they world is full of stupid people, be a believer, man :p

Although I'm positive the guy was pure B.S (probably posted just for kicks or was trying to get people to buy yet another untested product) I'm pretty sure he probably wasn't conspiring with AMD to hype the chip. Seriously, no company would hire a propaganda employee with the IQ demonstrated by this guy...
