yeah, that was my first reaction too...seriously, I'm a skeptic until Anand rolls out official benchies
I think Anand is waiting to get his hands on the latest revision that will be used in the retail channels. One that actually clocks more than 1.9 GHz.
True about Anand waiting...though it's nothing to do with the clockspeed (he had a 2.5GHz in hand as well). The shipping rev has a major errata fixed that the sample he reviewed did not.
As to the guy on NewEgg, sounds like BS to me too...certainly not with a B1 rev chip!
The B2/B3 rev chips will be the high performance, but the B1 chips (like on NewEgg) are the HE (Highly Efficient) chips and are built for low power and lower clocks. Getting one of those to 4.1 GHz on air shouldn't be at all possible (I
might buy 3.1 GHz, but that would be the limit on that rev...). There's also the fact that he wrote that about an 8xxx chip. Who in their right mind buys a 4P system and overclocks like that??? I'm not even sure a 4 socket board has the ability to overclock like that...
And if it wasn't a 4P board, then who is stupid enough to buy an 8xxx chip for a 2P board??
