they smell fine... do I cook them regardless of the expiration date or throw them out?

[my current options are either cooking this chicken or calling for take-out (probably chinese since i can order online and they accept credit cards)]

Yesterday was probably the sell-by date...I'm going to say they're fine.

You should cook them. The expiration date is the "suggested use by date". At least that is what my father in-law says. I trust him, he runs a grocery store.

If they smell fine, I'd cook them. You can usually tell when meat's gone bad just by smelling it.

It's not like you were going to cook it medium-rare anyway. Just rinse and dry it well, season it up, and make it.

Cook them. They're fine. I swear if half of the forums phobia's about food had any basis in reality, food borne illness would be the number one concern of the CDC and we'd all be dropping like flies.

Cooking meat kills any bacteria that are growing on the food. Therefore if it doesn't smell funny, it won't taste funny and you're set.

Exactly. Well, this and it's almost always the "sell by" date that is stamped on them.
