I found a Windows 7 bug

So, I reset the CMOS in my BIOS tonight after a failed overclock.

Then, in Windows 7, it thought we were in 2006. Once I changed it back to 2009, all hell broke loose. Aero Glass shut off. My windows all lost their DPI settings and were small. The system chugged along for a bit. Upon restart, my internet connection was ruined. Resetting my router did not fix this. I had to shut down my computer completely, then hard reboot the router, then reboot and all was well.

I reported it to MS.

This is on RC build 7100 BTW, 32-bit.

Not so sure if this is a bug or not. Seems some newer accounting software will totaly freak out if you start messing with dates and times. Honestly you should have just changed the date and time on the Bios and everything SHOULD have been fine.

Possibly something that triggered the reduced functionality mode which kicks in when the RC expires (next June or so) by moving the date 3 years forward.

There's a little lack of detail from the OP regarding that, it could be the pc to router lan conneciton that was disabled not the router wan. I was merely playing guess. 🙂

Thats probably the reason for it. I had the same thing happen to me with the Vista Beta.
