I found a solution to the welfare mama problem

Kids are expensive, especially welfare kids. The tax payers pay for welfare, medicaid, schooling, jail, etc. School is about $10,000 per year (seriously) and jail is more like $20,000 to $30,000 per year.

So how do you stop this problem? Easy. I suggest a new government program where both men and women receive a $30,000 cheque completely tax-free if they agree to be sterilized. After being sterilized, the man or woman would then get a government tattoo stating that this person has been sterilized and that it is illegal for any doctor to try to reverse it. A doctor caught trying to reverse the procedure would permanently lose his medical license for life. Anyone trying to remove the tattoo would be put in jail for something equivalent to forging government documents (like 20 years in jail?)

The net result would be lower government costs because fewer kids means lower government medical costs, lower government education costs, lower police costs (lower crime), and lower prison costs (fewer inmates).

Who would likely use this program?
-crackheads
-alcoholics
-people who don't want kids
-people who are desperately poor
-people who are impulsive
-people who would be the worst parents ever

I don't think you quite understand how sterilization works.

Well first you said if they AGREE to it which most won't so that won't stop anything.

Since there is no stipulation as to when sterilization needs to happen, I'll take the $30,000 ($60,000 total) after having our last kid.

Why would they take a measely 30 grand when they can have a constant stream of income from welfare equal to much more than that the rest of their life by having babies?

Based on your spelling of check, (cheque) either you're not an American, in which case our problems are none of your business, or this is some stupid email forward...in which case you're just a moron for passing it along.

Yup. Women can hit the lotto just by opening their legs.

Just offer a free, removable contraceptive implant to all citizens, that becomes mandatory if you want to receive any kind of welfare (or unemployment benefits after the first month).

With that and a bit of Soylent Green we'll solve both overpopulation and hunger in America.

Just because your coat-hangered uterus can't be replaced now doesn't mean it can't be replaced in the future. Uterus implant = illegal if you have the tattoo.

Have you seen what desperate people do for money? Lots of 7-11 clerks have been killed over just $30. Here we're talking 1000x that much and you don't need to kill anybody and you won't go to jail! It's win win for everyone, especially tax payers.

Another thing is that some people are really really stupid. When I was a kid, my next door neighbor was a mechanic for CN rail. It was a pretty good job, probably union, very secure, and it paid all the bills. At one point, CN offered a buyout package; that's a thing where you can get paid an entire year's worth of wages just to leave the company (it's to get rid of people who don't plan to be there very long). My neighbor took the package even though he was nowhere near retirement. Well then he found out he couldn't get a job anywhere near as good as the one he left, he had to sell his RV then his house then he moved away. If a man will put his entire family's financial stability at risk for maybe $60,000 then why wouldn't a crackhead get sterilized for $30,000?

The sterilization happens immediately. This is so they don't just take the money then fuck off and have a million kids anyway. You and your wife would need to have your baby before you apply for this program, and yes anyone can sign up. Even if you're really really rich and are already sterile from some other condition you're not telling us about, you still qualify for this program (keeps our staff costs down since we won't need to hire investigators to do medical background checks).

Because babies suck
-they fuck up your profit margin
-they make it difficult to sleep because they cry all the time
-it's hard to have sex marathons with random men when your baby keeps interrupting you
-hard to have a good crack binge when there's a baby crying
-they shit on everything
-you need to feed that baby pop and chips all the time, but those are my chips and i don't like sharing them

Here you get that government cheddar with none of the aftertaste. $30,000 can buy a whole lot of crack, new high tops, spinning rims, gold teeth, books (lol), and fried chicken.

you don't even need to write a check, "voluntary" sterilization in order to receive state benefits like food stamps and medicaid is enough of a incentive as it is

this is practiced in some jurisdictions

you get 30k once, + welfare just for you, and no kids.
Other possibility: become a welfare mom, have many kids (a family, most women want to have kids even if they shit, how strage), and earn money every year.

This plan is be plain stupid, there are so many ways in which it could go wrong. You are taking freedom away of desperate people who just need the money, and wasting shitloads of money on 50+ years old women and 70+ men who don't give a shit anyway because they can't have children.

A tattoo, what if you just cover it with another and then remove the parts, and anyway it's not like you can control every hole. Forging documents requires skill, money and equipment, removing a tattoo requires much less skill and equipment.

30K? Thats what Octomom gets in a year. Probably more.
I had to google this just to check. You're actually right about this.

http://www.cato.org/research/pr-nd-st.html
The study examines the combined value of benefits--including Aid to Families with Dependent Children, food stamps, Medicaid, and others--for a typical welfare recipient in each of the 50 states. The value of those tax-free benefits is then compared with the amount of take-home income a worker would have left after paying taxes on an equivalent pretax income. The following are among the study's findings.

* To match the value of welfare benefits, a mother with two children would have to earn as much as $36,400 in Hawaii or as little as $11,500 in Mississippi.

* In New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Alaska, and Rhode Island, welfare pays more than a $12.00-an-hour job--or more than two and a half times the minimum wage.

* In 40 states welfare pays more than an $8.00-an-hour job. In 17 states the welfare package is more generous than a $10.00-an-hour job.

* Welfare benefits are especially generous in large cities. Welfare provides the equivalent of an hourly pretax wage of $14.75 in New York City, $12.45 in Philadelphia, $11.35 in Baltimore, and $10.90 in Detroit.

* In 9 states welfare pays more than the average first-year salary for a teacher. In 29 states it pays more than the average starting salary for a secretary. In 47 states welfare pays more than a janitor earns. Indeed, in the 6 most generous states, benefits exceed the entry-level salary for a computer programmer.

This article originally appeared in the November/December 1995 edition of Cato Policy Report.

Damn. Welfare people are not idiots, that's for sure. Get paid quite a bit more than minimum wage and you never need to ask if someone wants that supersized.

ok policy change. If you get my sterilization procedure, you can keep receiving welfare! The catch is that it ends with the number of kids you currently have since you can't have any more ;)

The getting your tubes tied and stuff like that isn't sterilization. Very different.

Yes it is sterilization. That's an example of a surgical sterilization technique.

Maybe you're thinking sterilization is only possible with castration or a hysterectomy or radiation?

I had to google this just to check. You're actually right about this.

That's kind of old data though, 1995? Have welfare laws/rates changed at all in the past 15 years?

Stupidest thing I ever heard. There is no way they are going to raise taxes. Then give it to crackheads.

Us vs them

And they are far outbreeding us. That's the whole problem, you are rewarding bad decisions and behavior. Guess what happens when you pay people to have kids when they can't afford them? They have even more kids.

We don't have an overpopulation problem in America...

We have enough food to feed the whole fucking world in one country.
