I took apart my old 4 port hub today and found a sweet tiny fan. The model number is sunon kd0502pfb2-8. According to Sunon's website, it is 25x25x10mm, spins at 10K rpm and churns out a maelstrom of 3.0cfm! It actually feels like more than 3cfm, probably because the stream of air is so concentrated. Anyway, I was pretty excited at finding such a cool little fan, so I thought I'd share it with ya guys. :p

10K rpm? Hmmm. Is that loud at all?

Maybe if I find a way to overclock my MS IntelliMouse Explorer, I could use such a fan. ;)

not loud in the slightest. I think it was rated at 25 dB. Although, it was quite annoying when running. Even though it was barely discernable, it had a very high pitched whine that once you noticed couldn't get rid of.

Look in the back of your burner(s). All the ones I've owned have had 25mm fans in them

I got one about that size in my 8 port switch. I also salvaged one from a dead laptop. Sunon ball bearing; think it even has RPM monitoring on it. :)

There is one in a switch at work... damned loud and annoying to me. I use 2 40mm Sunons on my Netgear RT314... just for fun. Not every burner has a fan.
