So this is kind of embarassing. But I just got out of the shower and I felt a lump in my left cheek. It's about the size of a quarter, much more firm than the surrounding flesh. I don't really know what hemroids are, but I know they are on your backside. Or maybe its an abscess? Or do I have butt cancer? Suggestions for treatment?

What are hemorrhoids?
A precise definition of hemorrhoids does not exist, but they can be described as masses or clumps (?cushions?) of tissue within the anal canal that contain blood vessels and their surrounding, supporting tissue made up of muscle and elastic fibers. The anal canal is the last four centimeters through which stool passes as it goes from the rectum to the outside world. The anus is the opening of the anal canal to the outside world.

Although most people think hemorrhoids are abnormal, they are present in everyone. It is only when the hemorrhoidal cushions enlarge that hemorrhoids can cause problems and be considered abnormal or a disease.

It's unlikely you have cancer in the fatty tissue there. It's more likely a cyst.

Go to a doctor. Don't worry til he\she tells you to.
 
Ok I figure it is an abscess or something. I don't think you would be able to see anything in a picture, but it isn't a hemroid I guess, it is definately on the apex of bum not in the bung hole. You really need to give it a poke to know its there.
 
well its not on my coccyx, If I were laying on my stomach it would be the highest point on my bum almost dead center on the left side. So unless my tailbone was dislocated briefly without my knowledge...
