Well I was riding home from the mall with my gf last evening and we drove through a "nicer" part of the area, and there it sat.....a beige box and what looked to be a 17" CRT. She didn't want to stop, but I made her. (she said something about "her image" and how it would be ruined if anyone saw her car stopped with someone loading trash into it) I paid no mind. Anyways, the only thing wrong with it was the HDD and I have a few of those lying around 😉 . Seems to be a decent system, someone spent way too much on it at one time. I have been working on a "problem" system for my one co-worker (celeron 300 - Emachines) and can't wait to tell him that people throw away better systems than his. That's my story, where's my damn cookie???

I used to go computer hunting in high school... the walk from the train station to my school took me past a bunch of office buildings. whenever I stayed at school past 6 pm, I peek in some of the dumpsters. never went dumpster diving, but I did find some nice periphials on occasion (keyboards, monitors, printers, etc).

too bad there was no ebay at the time.
 
I am sorry for the pathetic attempt at being "1337", I have some friends that used to do the CS thing.........
