The mental image of some cartoon neurons just picking up and leaving made me laugh out loud.

I've had this happen. It's the weirdest thing. I could type it in at the keypad but I could not actually remember the numbers. One time I hadn't used it in a while and I actually couldn't even do it sitting there staring at the keypad. Like a moron I had to go home and check the sheet of paper the bank sent me with card originally.

You can't make it something easy to remember, like the last 4 of your phone number? Last 4 of your social? Your birthdate without the year? That's sad.

That happens to me all the time. Like at a ATM machine, I forget the numbers because my mind is so trained in remembering the pattern or the way my fingers move accorss the number pad. It also doesn't help that everything else in the world is 4 digits. Like at work, when I have to remember 300 4 number extensions.

I just use something that's memorable to me, but nothing current. It's the last four of an old phone number.

Thieves know to look for numbers in a wallet / card just like hackers know to check for random words around a PC.

I can see forgetting a PIN on a CC you rarely use, but how the heck do you forget a PIN on your primary debit card?

hahaha ive done this before. i never bother to change the autogenerated pin that the bank gives me. i usually just remember it. when i had my card replaced, i couldn't remember my pin. it was rather embarrassing asking the grocery store clerk to check to see if it went through ... about four times. then i just swiped my credit card to get out of there. :)
