I keep finding myself bored with the Internet...

I don't pirate music or movies or anything else. AT (and other) forums only keep me occupied for so long. Games are fun, but they grow old after a while and they're not exactly productive. I guess I could learn some programming or scripting... or brush up on other techie skills... but that's sometimes as much frustrating as it is fun. I chat with friends occasionally.

What are some more productive things that can be done on the Internet? (aside from DC projects)

Better yet, go work for Gameforge. You apparently don't need to know how to program anything to work on their Ikariam programming team.

This post read like I thought I've had before.

Video games don't particularly interest me anymore, and I feel the same way about programming and tech. My computer is a box for music, porn, IM, and this website - and I frequent them less and less lately. I don't want to say that I got a life, because I really haven't, I'm just bored with the internet too.

I've been bored with the Internet for several years now and "computing" in general. I know what you mean.

I think the better question is "what else can I do besides using the internet?"

Try a bunch of new stuff in real life, and go with your first impression- if it doesn't catch your interest the first time (could be the activity itself, or the person introducing you to this activity), move onto something else, keep doing this til you find enough things that are right for you. You can revisit something again later on if you feel like it.

Find these activities in your local paper (daily paper or citizine type thing), city hall, or via internet

Agree. I don't use my computer near as much as I previously did.

can someone explain to me when "intarwebs" became the "cool" way to say internet?

personally i think it's not cool at all and only tools say it, but i'm wondering when it became the hot thing to say on the internet.

Why do people think I'm a hermit just because I'm looking for something to do on the Internet?
