I find it annoying I can't use up all my PSN money.

PSN only allows you to deposit money to your account in $5, $10, and $20 increments. However, stuff like RB2 songs cost $1.99 + tax, so for me it turns out to be $2.11. I can never use up all my PSN money and it's annoying me. I have 51 cents in my account now.

At least XBox Live does things in terms of points, so you never have this problem.

You need to learn to add and subtract. My PSN balance is always $0.

Yep, PSN allows you to just spend the amount. You need to have no funds I believe, then just go to checkout and it'll give you the total, then you use your credit card for exact. It's so nice compared to the damn XBLA point system

 Agreed. Dealing with real dollars is nice, as is being able to pay exact prices.

I deposit money, because I would rather have a single $25 charge than multiple $2.00 ones for rock band songs.

So leftover points don't bother you, but cash does? You make no cents.

You pay tax for RB and GH tracks or what I think is really royalty. You don't pay tax on games.

I've been purchasing RB DLC for almost a year now, never once paid tax. I'm in California if that matters.

OP is a failure. I never have a balance on my psn account. I always just add the exact amount I need during checkout.

Okay, seems people on both sides of the fence in this thread don't understand what is happening.

Sony has to deal with minimum charges for credit cards. And also have to deal with tax for some reason.

So anything that costs under $5, and after tax the total cart purchase is still under $5, then you have to charge $5, or deposit a dollar amount in that kind of increment.
However, anything that costs over $5 can be charged the exact value, so you don't have to deal with excess money in the wallet.

Answer:500 songs for a total of $1055

I haven't paid tax on anything, and bought DLC and games. No music tracks though, but I'm surprised they tax that.

You pay tax on your purchases if there is a Sony Style store in your state. It's just like online vendors charging you sales tax if they have a location in your state.

son of a bitch.
I was figuring that was the case, but I've never seen a Sony retail outlet in Ohio. Must be somewhere hidden here in Columbus or somewhere in Cleveland.

Though, wouldn't taxes also be the case if they merely had a corporate office of some sort in the state?

Google search shows 2 in Columbus and 1 in Cincinnati.
