Samsung browser on the s7, its the smoothest browsing experience on android bar none. It can finally open pages in the background now.
Is it? I got so annoying with Samsung's browser on my s3 crashing on me all the time, I didn't even give the default browser on my s7 a chance. As soon as I got my s7, Chrome was my first download.

My point isn't that I should go looking for browsers again. My point is that if the phone manufacturer wants better ad revenue from their own browser, they need to make sure that each phone they sell comes with a good browser to begin with.

I find it hilarious that you think the browser wouldn't have been improved 4 generations later.

That ain't the point. I'm sure it has (at least I would hope so). The point is that I already got used to Chrome thanks to their previous junk browser. So why on earth would I dare (or take to time to) try their new one?

The point is that folks are discussing what they feel are the best available browsers today and if haven't actually checked on them recently, then your opinion is going to be pretty narrow.

Considering Google's business model, having Chrome support an ad blocker is impossible and in today's world IMO is a huge disadvantage.

With the addition of opening in background in the Samsung 5.0 browser, I'm pretty satisfied as it supports ad blockers + has the UI I want (bookmarks in the footer) + seems to perform better on Samsung phones than other browsers.

Honestly? Chrome is junk. I don't use it on PC anymore (Edge is better), and I don't use it on mobile because it will never have an ad block on mobile.

Personally, I use Firefox and Opera (& Opera Mini for when I'm on mobile data).

Firefox's tab queue is awesome (lets you open multiple URLs at once), rendering quality and speed is acceptable, and there are adblocking extensions.

Opera is faster and has ad blocking built in. I believe it is based on Webkit so Chrome-like performance, but with adblocking (no extension needed).

Opera Mini is great when you are on mobile, faster, lighter on data, and also has ad blocking.

Those are my main three that I use on a regular basis, but I also have Chrome and Dolphin installed. Chrome is chrome, and dolphin seems ok. Haven't found a reason to use it. Dolphin Zero seems like a good idea, but the lack of tab support kills it.

Unfortunately the new Samsung browser is only supported on their newer devices.

The big question is , will there ever be an adblocker for the android version of chrome ?

No. Basically you'll have to choice chrome w/ ads or some chromium derivative (many choices in play store) that loses goog sync features. The other alternatives like firefox just aren't as good on mobile.

Are there chromium derivatives with adblockers build in ?

Yandex browser as I mentioned earlier works with Samsung add-on's. I use it on my Huawei Honor 8 and I rarely see any ad. I highly recommend the combo as the best thing other than rooting and editing HOSTS file.

I used to use Opera and now moved on to the following combo:

Yandex Browser
Unicorn

Let me give up root access for now. Samsung browser (on Samsung phones) is OK, too, and works also with Unicorn.

http://venturebeat.com/2015/05/20/a...irefox-for-android-with-built-in-ad-blocking/

I used it during the beta release.

Also, they say it is a fork of Mozilla here:

https://adblockplus.org/en/source

That being said, yea - it is really weird how they have changed the UI to be (imho) a lot worse than Firefox proper.

Sorry, I was talking about https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hsv.freeadblockerbrowser&hl=en, "Free Adblocker Browser" as mentioned not "Adblock Browser for Android".

For folks who can live with Firefox, it supports the uBlock extension which is better than "Adblock".

Chrome would be my browser of choice if mobile web adverts weren't so obnoxious, intrusive and resource-hungry. Until that day comes, the Samsung browser will do me just fine for as long as I have a Samsung phone.

Yes it is, dump chrome. Just make sure your browser is version 5, for some reason i can only get 4 from the playstore, had to get 5 from apkmirror.com
