So a few months ago there was a Star Trek Original Series marathon on TV land and I happened to channel surf to it. I had never seen a complete episode of any Star Trek series and I was bored, so I decided to watch. That was all it took. I'm now hooked on the original series after blowing through season 1 on DVD and season 2 is on its way.
Anyway, it's a really good show and they did a good job with the special effects considering when it was made. Sure, I laughed a few times at the special effects, but overall it shows that a good plot makes the show good, not the special effects.
So, I don't think I'm a Trekkie (and hopefully it stays that way), but what are some suggestions for new fans of Star Trek, other than the obvious "get a girlfriend"?
