It is a fun game, running on the unreal 3 engine.
Story is exiting.
Key binding and movement is as it should be, wonderfully unreal. :)
My A10-6700 APU has no problem with it at all.

For those interested :
If it will not run, check your visual studio C++ 2005 and 2008 redistributables. There might be some conflicts as this game needs them and installs them.
Further more, it runs fine on windows 7 64 bit.
No compatibility mode needed.

Singularity is an awesome game, I have a friend from college who worked on it. I didn't find out that he worked on the game until I checked his Linkedin profile. IMO it's the closest thing to a half life 2 sequel you will see, and it's very underrated.

Yeah.

I like games where i start with no weapons, no knowledge. Completely in the blank. Scary scenery and sounds.
And then as the game goes on, the story unfolds. My favorite kind of game. If the plot is revealed at the beginning, i get bored quickly. I was planning to finish Clive Barkers Jericho first. But this game appeals to me more.

Nice! This was a nice find when I played it a while back. It's one hell of an experience, loved the story and the journey to the end. Have fun!

It is all about the E-99.

I played yesterday evening for an hour and a half. What a great game.
Just the way i like it. Every now and then, bits and pieces of information are released, feeding my curiosity. I already have some idea where it is going.
I will be playing later on again.

that game got bashed so much, but i thought it was pretty solid. nice plot, if not super-original, but also nicely done. 7/10

I can imagine that some people would be negative about the game.
The only limitation is that this game does not have saved games that you can retrieve. So a wrong choice condemns a player for a while to a difficult position.
But that also makes it more exiting. There is no quicksave or quickload. The game saves checkpoints.
I remember saving and loading a bazillion times with half life/wolfenstein/doom and any other game that allows for save games.

It is hard to be original with a first person shooter game. But as long as it plays as a good detective story, slowly unraveling the plot and the story with twists and turns. I am happy. :)

This is a great game, very enjoyable. Beautiful graphics/aesthetics, nice shooting mechanics and exploration, and a good story.

My only real gripe is the checkpoint system which makes it possible to inadvertently miss secret areas by wandering off into a no-return zone.

I highly recommend Timeshift as well. It has similar time-based puzzles and an unfolding sci-fi story feel. I actually consider it to be Singularity's sister game.

Those phase ticks are not easy. But i will get them. I almost made it once using the deadlock and the shotgun.

That was so easy.

Just use a deadlock, stand in the middle and time how long a deadlock appears. Before it ends, create a new one. And in the mean while, shoot all ticks that come at you. The phase ticks slow down at the border of the deadlock , so it is just shooting away. Always keep creation of the deadlock a first priority.

The deadlock function of the TMD is such a powerful weapon.

Release a deadlock and finish anything you like off with the conventional weapons.

LOL I read the title and thought you were talking about Ashes of the Singularity.

But this actually sounds interesting, it's a FPS with a story? And it keeps you in the dark with what's going on at first? Could be cool. Will have to check this out at some point.

Yep, it is first person shooter with an unraveling story. You learn from the beginning strange things are going on, on this island and you are send out to investigate. From the start strange things happen and as the game progresses, it becomes more clear. You can buy powerups on several points in the game, choose wisely...

You will acquire a device later in the game that allows you to manipulate time around you. Makes for interesting and fun puzzles.

I really enjoyed this title. It felt similar to FEAR in spirit and how it played out. Seeing you talk about it makes me want to dust it off and have a go again.

I will have a look at that game "Timeshift". Thank you.
