So I finally have a couch! Yay!
I no longer have to sit on teh floor while surfing the web, or eating or anything else besides sleeping. Though i am writing this while on teh floor at the moment. Okay I just moved to the couch.. seems comfy.
So Christina Petroni asked if i wanted a couch a few weeks back. I said fine, i could use one. Little did she mention that the couch was a 'bitch'. There is a reason why she isnt lugging it back to San Jose or even to Hawaii, because its a big, heavy, uneasy thing to move.
So around 11pm Saad and Assad came by my place and we drove to christnia's apartment on Hurley (between howe and fulton). Getting the couch out of her place was easy enough. The hard part was going down teh stairs. We loaded it into the truck and I pulled out my tie downs from the days i used to tow the motorcycle behind the car. We tied it down and started driving home.
I called Sajith who lives down teh street to give us a hand. Well the hand was definately needed. Getting it up teh stairs was hard, i was on teh top side but not as hard as getting it INTO the apartment.
With 4 guys we managed to it thru teh door. The problem is that the door is 6.5 feet and the sofa is 7.5feet. On top the door entry way ends about a feet after you open teh door. Basically about 4-5feet after you open teh main door is my closet and the wall.
So basically we had to make a 90degree turn to get it into teh apartment. Well its not all that easy to looks. It took a hell lot of grunting , pushing, shoving, breaking before it got in.
Its finally in, and im sitting on this as i write. The thing was a bitch to get it in. I aint moving it when i leave this place. I am dumping it on someone else or trashing it. Its a lovely sofa... very comfy.. but not worth the work involved.
The sofa is an expensive peice i can tell. LaZboy Branded... the two outer ends will recline. the center one backrest folds into a table / cup holder and magazine holder. The bottom of the center has a storage bin.
I got to go to Home Depot tomorow and pick up some velro or something to fix the center storage container cover. It broke off. It holds the center storage thing, it broke offf. I dont need it but i will want to get the cover back on.. the rolling drawer is not worth my time.
I will post pics of the sofa and damage done tomorrow. I am going to bed now.. goodnight.
NO CLIFFS!
