Thanks for the congrats, guys!
It took me so long for two reasons. The first is that I got married and started working 40 hours per week after my junior year of undergrad, so I only went to school part-time. The second is my undergrad was not at all a business degree (it was actually a religious studies degree), so I had to take 24 hours of prerequisite classes before starting the actual MBA program, which was an additional 33 hours.
Unfortunately I had to pay for school myself (well, mostly with loans). I was able to finish my Bachelor's with only $5,000 in debt, but I have a bit more than that for my MBA.
I didn't do any internships, but I've been the IT manager at a 30-employee company for the past 3 years. There's no promotion path for me here, so I hope to find a management position that will make good use of my computer knowledge and experience (and that will give me an edge over the competition).
I got my MBA from Missouri State University with a focus on management. I thought about focusing on CIS given my computer background, but I would've had to take 3-4 more prerequisite classes for that.
I'm planning to start my job hunt this week. Most job hunts I've done in the past have taken place when I've been unemployed. Already having a job takes some of the pressure off, but on the flip side I need to force myself a little bit more to get out there and actually do it. The first step is to update this old resume.
