Oh man, am I happy!

After a long day at work, I walked into Wal-Mart to get some stuff for my mom, and I walked in Electronics as usual, looking for the elusive PS2's. Same thing I've done a hundred times (No joke)

I am now at home with two of 'em. :Q

Any recommended games? I got Armored Core 2 and Parasite Eve II (PS1) I need a good racing game.

Madden 2001 is my FAVORITE football game of all TIME.. Ready 2 rumble boxing is a waste, UT is decent.

There isn't really anything that spectacular out for the PS2 yet. Wait until MGS2 and Soul Reaver 2 hit the market. Now those are gonna rock. I think I'll wait until the Gamecube and X-Box come out and then decide what to buy.
But of all the games out there now, I think SSX kicks the most ass for PS2.

I fifth the GT3. Just wait for that, as there are no good racing games out right now. MGS2, Dark Cloud (Out in March I believe), Z.O.E. (Out in March, MGS2 demo disc to be with it at some stores :Q) , and The Bouncer (Another March release..) are high on my list of what to get also.

x-box just keeps getting more and more expensive...

it has DVD capabilities, but UNLIKE PS2, you can't use DVD UNLESS you buy the extra remote setup for it.. which is rumored to cost around $75...

within a few months PS2 is coming out with some very nice games... I can't wait

Oh yea Voodoo I have Ridge Racer V for PS2, it's not too bad, I haven't played many racing games since playing on a sega and it blows that away... but the graphics are nice for an early PS2 game. I wouldn't say worth $50, but if you try auction sites like I did, you can get it for around $35

Another vote for GT 3 but my only complaint is theat I've heard that there will not be as many cars as GT 2 (500).

I heard that the american and european version should be able to play DVD's right out of the box.

Voodoo you're talking about the PS2, the japanese versions had some glitch and needed an upgrade...

The X-Box, which will be released in the US first, will require an add-on(the remote) to play DVD's.

GT3 won't have as many cars as GT2, and I'm kind of for it. Get better quality graphics per car otherwise. I just hope Sony releases a very good steering wheel for GT3.

you sad people, getting so excited about getting a PS2. where i live, since the PS2's launch there have been literally 100's of these things just sitting on store shelves. no ones buying them. none of the current games are any better/different to what is already available on other platforms.
