I finally got a good night's rest again!

I've been pretty miserable since last Summer. My wife and I went shopping for a new mattress and settled on an innerspring model. I thought it was great...we slept good, etc... But she didn't like it. She ended up going mattress shopping with her mother and they both bought some foam mattresses (no springs).

She got one that wasn't firm enough and my back has suffered ever since. I actually sunk down in that bed after laying on it a few seconds. I'm not a fan of foam at all....but she complained to the furniture company and they talked to the mattress rep 2 months ago. Yesterday she surprised me...they delivered a replacement mattress and it's firm enough that I probably woke up only twice. The first time was at midnight when I thought it was morning already....that's how good I slept.

I hope you all never go through what I've been through since August. It was tough not hurting her feelings by making a poor decision on mattress firmness. We've had the discussion quite a few times about the importance of a firm mattress.

Yeah I cant stand sleeping on soft mattresses. Without fail if I stay at a hotel which has a soft mattress I wake up with back pain.

What brand is the foam mattress you ended up liking?

Just got a Sealy's i-series pillowtop to replace a previous 12-year old pillowtop that served us well - we just upgraded to a king size. My picky wife approves. They are stiff enough not to sink in but still provides for the curves of your back. We also have a rock-hard mattress in the other room and finally had to get a pillowtop for it.

Personally, I love foam mattresses, so long as they are on slated bed frames and have a pillow top.

She stated that she thinks they ordered the wrong model... The problem is, she was with her mother and they ordered different things. I can see them confusing the sales rep and each other. In the end, her mother received the wrong mattress. That's why she decided to ask if we may have as well received the wrong mattress....they confirmed we had the one that was ordered, but who knows....I wasn:'t there.
