Usually an early sign of diabetes. Sorry if this is bad news but that's the honest truth. Go see your doctor and get your blood tested.
I am not kidding either diabetes is a potenialy serious condition. :(

yeah, that's the same thing my roomate told me. I guess he was thirsty all the time, and it ended up being he has diabetes.

If this lasts too long, see your doctor. For now, though, keep drinking those fluids. If you're really concerned with hydration, supplement with pedialyte, gatorade, or some other hydrating drink.

<Edit> The others are right about the diabetes. If the problem persists for to long, do as I mentioned above and see a doc. It could be though, that you are more thirsty because the air where you are is really dry or it is very hot and you're losing liquid through sweat.

Drinking alcohol will dehydrate you. This is probably the sourse of your thirst.

You are dehydrated from drinking alcohol and then not drinking enough water last night afterward. Hangovers are caused by severe dehydration.

Drink more water. :)

This was the first signs of my sister's diabetes. Get it checked out if it continues.

how exactly does someone get diabetes? I've never had any health problems before and AFAIK, nobody in my family has had diabetes or other health problems.

You are most likely dehydrated from drinking, I have done that before. My father had diabetes, and he was thirsty like that all the time. I remember him keeping water by the bed every night so he could drink. Just if it continues, then see a doctor.

Diabetes just develops... my sisters seemed to happen fairly quickly...her thirst and stuff seemed to get the worst within the last week or two before she was diagnosed. We took her to the hospital and they were suprised she wasn't unconscious considering where her blood sugar was at. Man, she drank like MAD that last week. She is type 1 (insulin dependant...can't control it with pills or diet).

My father has diabetes and he's always thirsty. You better get inspected by the doctor Stefan.

Stefan, I wouldn't worry if you only have these thirst problems after drinking alcohol. This is normal.
If you are thirsty all the time, or more often than just after drinking, then you should see a doctor.

Stefan: It only started today, right? Then relax and don't worry about it, its nothing. Like I said, it continues, then get checked out. Nobody posting here is a doctor, so don't take anything too much to heart. ;)
