Yeah, but sometimes you get so sleepy you just fall asleep with your head staring at something...

I have chronic insomnia, and when I used to work in telesales I once nodded off while on the phone to a customer (I hadn't slept in days.) Supposedly my last words before my supervisor woke me up were "all your base are belong to us."

The guy had absolutely no idea of what I was talking about, neither did my supervisor, but neither were the slightest bit amused. True story.

When I started working the nightshift I had the same problem. Sometimes I was too tired to even eat my lunch. What I usually did was completely skip my breaks. This probably sounds like a bad idea, but in my opinion, stopping what you're doing and sitting down just relaxes you and makes you more tired. It's best to just keep working and don't look at the clock!!!

actually, at school, if the problem is getting yelled at by the teacher, then there is a solution

cover one of ur eyes with one hand, leaning on it when ur elbow on the table. do this for 5 minutes, then switch hands/eyes. when ur done, each eye will get equal rest and ur good to go

Plus, you'd look retarded doing it.

As long as you keep that up every hour, you'll be "ok", but if you stop halfway through, you'll crash and it won't be fun.

I don't battle it. I just slouch down in my chair and pass out. Within a few minutes, I will either be roused by some random office denizen or startle myself awake. It's amazing what a quick power nap can do for you.

I still remember the last time I used no-doze pills to stay awake while studying for a major exam... I "crashed" about an hour after the exam, between classes while walking back to the dorm. I just leaned against some bushes because I was suddenly really tired, and before I knew it, I was sleeping in the bushes. (friends got me up and back to the dorm)

I end up falling asleep in class with my head propped by my arm whenever any of my teachers decide to be incredibly dull. It never seems to help. I can sleep almost anywhere, and I have never felt as if I couldn't sleep. I have slept for a wide range of hours, but I am always tired when I get up :(

My job keeps me awake all on its own. The more tired I am, the less I pay attention which means I get chlorine fumes in my face.
