Short story, PartyPoker has a very annoying banner add for a Casino they run, and they were offering a 200% deposit bonus, so I bit. I deposited $100, got a $300 bankroll, and was off to play $4500 worth of blackjack hands and cash out what I thought would be around $380 (less then 1% house edge).

Well, after $4,500 hands of blackjack, I had a bankroll of $800, and then decided it was time to cash out. Well, the site wasn't giving me my bonus . . . turns out you have to play $4,500 worth of slots! Well, off to the slots I guess. They advertise 97.5% return, so I was just going to play penny slots, put it on autoplay, and go to bed.

Well, I was bored and started playing myself. Three hours later, my $800 became $1900! This is enough to pay of my credit card debt, and have a bit left over to buy myself a nice GF6400 Ultra + Doom 3. Man I was happy.

And finally, to make a long story short, after playing some more slots I'm down to $500. I'm done, and a lot porrer :( I can't believe I just blew $1,400 in less then an hour. With numbers on a screen, it just does not seem real, but when I think about it in terms of computer hardware or months rent I want to strangle myself.

I thought you were going to say they wouldn't give you your $1900, but, that does suck... you got greedy.

Oh well, lesson learned and you didn't actually lose your investment money.

I'm betting you'll try and win back your $1400 and end up losing some of that too... be smart and don't.

my friend deposited 250 last night on party poker, he lost 150 within an hour (texas hold em) and tried to get it back over the next hour. His luck was just not on point. It was exciting though seeing him go all in when he had a flush only to see that another player had a higher flush :)

I've always said it and it still rings true - NL ring is a sucker's game. Even most pros avoid it like the plague because the variance for even good players is just nuts.

Except I make money playing online poker. I'm up several thousand for the summer. It would take me losing 121 tourneys IN A ROW to reach break even at this point, which would be playing 5 days streight and loosing every single time.

You're lost...? He could have had $1,900 but instead has $500. Yeah it's tough to figure why he's upset.
