Short story, PartyPoker has a very annoying banner add for a Casino they run, and they were offering a 200% deposit bonus, so I bit. I deposited $100, got a $300 bankroll, and was off to play $4500 worth of blackjack hands and cash out what I thought would be around $380 (less then 1% house edge).
Well, after $4,500 hands of blackjack, I had a bankroll of $800, and then decided it was time to cash out. Well, the site wasn't giving me my bonus . . . turns out you have to play $4,500 worth of slots! Well, off to the slots I guess. They advertise 97.5% return, so I was just going to play penny slots, put it on autoplay, and go to bed.
Well, I was bored and started playing myself. Three hours later, my $800 became $1900! This is enough to pay of my credit card debt, and have a bit left over to buy myself a nice GF6400 Ultra + Doom 3. Man I was happy.
And finally, to make a long story short, after playing some more slots I'm down to $500. I'm done, and a lot porrer
I can't believe I just blew $1,400 in less then an hour. With numbers on a screen, it just does not seem real, but when I think about it in terms of computer hardware or months rent I want to strangle myself.
