I feel like I'm like 3 years behind the times...

An ipod. One of the 20 gig ones with the color screen. I didn't see any other MP3 players that I really liked, and since there is so much out there for the ipod, I went ahead and got one.

There's no way I'm using those white headphones though. I guess I'm a lemming, but i'm going to try and avoid looking like one.... 😉

I had some Sony canal phones, EX51LPs, I thought they were the best headphones ever. And then I bought Shure E2C canalphones, oh yeaaaaah.

I got some canal phones and I'm starting to get annoyed by them. I prefer my old Sennheiser MX 500's, but I can't find them. 🙁

Oh, and the Sony Fontopias really can't be called "canal phones", they don't go in as deep as real canalphones do, like Shure's or UE's.

It was never an "ipod battery problem", it was more of a "rechargable battery problem". All Li-Ion batteries' charge starts to detoriorate after 1000 charges or so, but iPod batteries are not user-replaceable, so a bunch of Joe Sixpacks were complaining even though they damn well should have known that when they bought the player, and I believe apple only charges $69 now for the battery replacement.

you're behind the times? i don't have a cell phone and I use a little pocket FM radio.

technology is on the path of diminishing returns.

I've been eyeing the Rio Karma 20GB, but there's also the Creative Nomad Zen 30GB. I dunno, I've gotta get one soon though before I go crazy.

Rio has (actually, had, RIP Rio) some serious QC issues, and Creative's Nomad has been succeeded by like 3 models now, grab a Zen Touch or the new Zen Sleek, or maybe an iPod.

$59, +$6 S&H. For Gen 1/2 owners, as part of the class action settlement, Apple is giving them a $50 credit if they make a claim, bringing the replacement cost down to $15.🙂 Gen 3 owners have a similar thing going on, but they need a proof of purchase to make a claim, while the older guys just need to supply their serial number, the date they bought their iPod, and the date when the battery bit it.
