What sucks about this TV?

Is it 760p? 1080i? I have no idea ... it doesn't say ... I can't find CRAP about it, Samsung.com's website is just as void of information ...

For $1600, it seems pretty cheap ...

I'm not really looking for a "steal" here ... just trying to understand the specs!

TIA, please don't flame :)

Well, it has HDMI, which is one thing usually skipped in cheap ones. No mention of the res probably means its not that great. No chance in hell its 1080p, it might not do 1080i either.

The 42" EDTV version takes various inputs ...

And the 50" does 1366(H) x 768(V) pixel resolution ---

So maybe they're all 720p?

$1588 still sounds pretty good if so ... about $200 less than major retailers ...

I work at Sam's Club in the electronics department. That TV...

i) Has a resolution of 13xx x 768 pixels
ii) It will display at max 1080i (maybe 1080p, I'll check if you want), but it's not true 1080 because of its resolution
iii) Has a really nice picture, in my opinion

The picture is much more vivid than the other plasma's on display. The other displays are only a couple of months old, so it's not like the picture brightness has degraded significantly. The brightness and color makes the picture look more like something from an LCD.

On the other hand, though, the image is almost unrealistic. I've tried detuning it (from out-of-the-box specs)to some extent, but human skin still doesn't look natural, so you'll have to mess around with it. The menu interface is also very friendly, if that matters.
