lol. The fact that you don't deny it makes it true. Everyone knows this.

well you didn't deny your own stupidity, maybe you should edit your post so you don't look so foolish. Being stupid and foolish is combo that will get you in the army and shrapnel in your brain.

I'm a bit confused, DS9VOY.

In this thread you say you work selling video games at Target and have done that for 7 years at basically minimum wage.

In June you said you "work in IT at a local telco." link

In August you said your last job was as a state government clerk and your employment history was:

Target - 4 years after high school - two promotions ended up a department manager.
AT&T after that as an I&R technician. Did that for about 2 years before being laid off.
State government after that as a clerk. Did that until 6 months ago when I got laid off. link

Now you say your brother is the one who worked for AT&T and he currently works for the government.

The truth has finally come out. He said all of those things to make himself feel better. Now, he's feeling the pressure of his continuous failure, and is seeking help and guidance. Sadly, he will find neither here. For here at ATOT we are comprised of the top 1% of humanity, and we have no tolerance for genetic failures like him. Better to have these fools end themselves early than further infest our gene pool. Everyone knows this.

He works at target and can't even live on his own. How difficult is it going to be to try and get educated at a reputable university?

There are a ton of job fields in the military that are highly technical and sought after in the civilian world. He gets out and has priority for most government jobs and will be making a ton more than he will at target, part-time at 8.50 an hour.

Just because you left disgruntled doesn't make your experience typical of people that serve. Iraq has wound down and Afghanistan will be too.

As long as he doesn't sign up to be a grunt/infantryman he's going to get some decent job skills. He can get contracted into something IT related and get all his certifications and come out making good money.

He get into the networking/data guys he's coming out with Security+, Net+, A+, CCNA, maybe even CISSP plus all the other school he does for the job counts towards college credit.

He's not trying to finish an education, he has NONE.

The technical side of the military is a good move for him if he wants to take a big step to better himself rather than bitching about it for another 7 years with other part time workers at Target.

This.
In the Air Force.

You can make it in retail, you just have to try. I had 4 or 5 good friends who just "never quit" working at the grocery store after high school /college(thankfully I got the hell outta there) but I think most of them have moved up the chain quite a bit. Show some initiative, quit complaining (sounds like you already did that). Seems to me most people in retail are there to work a few years then leave, if thats not your plan then better be a good worker, not just another body in front of a register.

No, you can't make it in retail. The people who make it in retail are.. well, the people who make in retail. We've all seen them. They reign over their fiefdoms with absolute power and make $30k/year.

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Apparently everyone but theflyingpig knows this.

Top 1% of humanity? Infest our gene pool? Please speak for yourself. I have no desire to be in the same gene OCEAN with the likes of you.

Join the military. They'll pay for school, give you room and board, and build your self confidence. If you really don't want to be shot at, join the Navy or the Air Force.

Listen to me.

Don't put up with it anymore. Do something about it. Do it and do it NOW.

Be pissed off every second of your day about your situation. Don't procrastinate. EVER.

Go to school, hunt for a better job, do something. Never quit until you find it and keep a positive attitude yet retain the anger you have for your situation. But direct the anger at your situation and turn it into positive energy. Poor people have bad attitudes, that's what got them there.

"Do not wait; the time will never be "just right." Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along. "

Lately your post are filled with reference to butt sex and sucking guys dicks. You going to tell us the REAL reason your wife left you?

This is just what I saw when I got back out and about for a while.

Lots of guys talking about sex, but just going home together.

Plus the general consensous here that having roommates is far better than a bachelorpad.

well in that last link he said he was laid off and looking for a job in other retail places.

Chances are he ended back at Target and started over.
