I just purchased an AMD 64 4000+ San Diego from a guy on some other forums... he threw in an XP-120 & fan for $280 shipped... He even gave me his home number...
2hrs after I sent him the money he leaves me a voicemail saying there's an issue with our transaction. He was selling two CPUs, a 3200+ & a 4000+... he sold the 3200+ a couple days before, and just realized he accidentally shipped this guy the 4000+, but reassured me this guy was honest and he already had it all taken care of.
He said he was going to ship the 3200+ and a check overnight to this guy, and the check was for this guy to overnight the 4000+ to me... So for an hour I'm worried about this... I decide to look up the guy who bought the 3200+. I found him, and sent him a PM, and he verified everything the guy told me. That made me feel quite a bit better. I thanked him and went on with my business.
I checked my msgs before bed and the guy (who has the 4000+ now) has sent me another msg saying that he can't "warranty" that I'll have it by the end of the week because he has had a funeral in his family...
I've just sent the guy I bought the CPU from a msg telling him I wanted out of the transaction, or atleast reimbursed until the chip arrived. I told him that I was very uncomfortable about the whole situation.
He has yet to reply, and I'm just venting now... I have nearly 100+ transactions between ebay and forums, and haven't been burnt yet, I'm worried.

I came to different forums because I don't want to cause him any troubles if he really is an honest seller, I'm just wanting all of your opinions on this... to either make me worry more, or feel better I hope.
