i feel bad for my mom.....

my mom never had much money.... always bought things that were on sale for herself like 10-20 dollars worth

i remember before i went to college last year, she bought me a pair of shoes that costed 100 bucks which now it costs 20 bucks or so plus some clothes... and another pair of shoes + sandals...

i feel bad because i never realized how crappy it feels buying someone something,,, maybe it's different since she is my mom but i could've settled for a pair of 30 dollar shoes instead of a 100 dollar pair... WTF was i thinking! .. only recently, i paid for someone's dinner.... and i want that money back.... i wonder how my mom felt 🙁

100 dollars is a lot of money... but just last year, i wanted the expensive things... now i want to get things that are on sale.... mostly because it's coming out of pocket anyway 🙂

other things has happened similar to this... this was just one of the examples

thanks for reading, hope it made sense and understand where I am coming from even though this was a bad exmaple lol

You've never given anything to anyone in your life? wtf?
Yeah, dude, what the hell? It feels crappy? Damn, I really don't mind it at all...it can even feel good. I hope I didn't overwhelm you with that last little bit.

Wow.

haha i was thinking the same thing...

i've bought dinner for a lot of people and i dont have a lot of money and i never thought, "i want that money back"

Good; you are learning. Life isn't all that simple, huh? Feelings start to get in the way as you get older.

Until I hit about 22 or so, I didn't give a rat's ass about anything or anyone. Then reality hit. You're learning early. go forth and do great things. 🙂

Generosity is a big key to happiness. It is a road I am starting to frequent much more often. Money isn't everything... people are.

i make it a point to buy dinner for a certain someone. i don't attach any strings to it... i do it because it feels good and i think it's a good thing to do. to each his/her/its own 🙂

nice that you're telling us. but it wouldn't hurt either to call your mom up and tell her you love her and thanks for supporting you.

She is basically giving you her love in exchange for your love back, its basically exchanging "gifts"..

Take your mom out to dinner or something at her favorite restuarant

Eh, money is everything. But not so much so that I you can't get some joy over blowing some of it on people you care about. Honestly there's not much better feeling than giving. Christmas time is my playground now for the exact opposite reason it was when I was little. Seriously dude, you need to get into giving a little more. I bet you avoid christmas/birthdays like the plague. That's kinda sad. Try starting small. Add these :gift: to every one of your posts.

So you've never bought someone dinner or a present just because you haven't seen them in a long time, they helped you out, a lost bet, birthday/celebration, or just plain deserved it, and not regreted it?

i'm pretty sure i have... it's not something i do "often" though... I'm talking about people outside of my family
if you're talking about buying a friend tacos or something at taco bell because the person had no money, yeah... that's only 3 bucks, not that big of a deal to me..things like that has occurred quite often

but I'm talking dinners, $40+ and it only lasted 30 minutes 🙁

btw, it's 2 in the morning,,, i took 3 exams today from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M. ... give me a friggin break lol 🙂

Good Gawd, I've funded bar trips for my friends....just because they're my friends. If I've got money, my friends have money (within reason). I couldn't even guess how much money I've spent on friends or what they've spent on me because we don't keep track of stuff like that.

I'm not sure what your intention is with this thread but you are coming across as a selfish pr!ck.

I guess admitting you are a selfish prick is the first step?😕
