My wife and I went out to a restaurant last night for dinner and I had the special which was seabass. God, it makes me queasy just typing that. Anyway, all went well but then around 11PM I started to feel like I was going to throw up. Yeah, I threw up... and then threw up again every 10-15 minutes for the next 6 hours. I'm not throwing up anymore but I'm just drained. Drinking some water for breakfast and then off to work.

Holy shit that sucks. I got it about that bad once. Almost went to the hospital for dehydration, but started being able to keep water down about 12-14 hours in. I can still remember how sore my stomach muscles were and how bloodshot my eyes were. Yikes.

And there it is. Kick his ass, seabass!

I once got staph from an Arby's. That was a horrible 30 hours. I did end up in the ER after I was unable to even crawl to the bathroom I was so dehydrated. 3L of IV fluid later and I was feeling a hell of a lot better.

It's red tide. Can I have your stuff?

Red tide is like Red Dawn except the mortar shells go off in your gut.

I had the exact same experience many years ago when I was 14 years old. The family was on vacation, a 2 week drive through the western USA, stopping at national parks, staying in motels, eating at a variety of diners, restaurants, etc. We were on the last leg, heading back into California. Just short of that we stopped at a motel in Klamath Falls, Oregon. We went out to eat and I ordered chicken cacciatore. Noone else got sick. But I was sick as a dog, just as you describe until dawn. I have never in my life had chicken cacciatore again!

Food poisoning put me in the hospital for IV fluids about 10 years ago. Spent about 8 hours doing that whole throwing up every 10-15 minute dealy like you did. Then about once an hour for the next 8 or so. I wasn't able to retain fluids at all. Was not a fun time.

I actually had a similar reaction to drinking too many rum and cokes when I was 20. Hours, but not 12 hours. Never had another rum and coke, you better believe.
