As a long-time PC gamer building his own rigs (which is how I found ATOT), I always looked a bit down on consoles for their inferior graphics (vs a high-end PC) and interface (for shooters). I have grown to appreciate the pluses of consoles since but never for me.

But my new fiance is a big PS4 gamer so in order to spend more quality time killing shit with her, I ordered a PS4 Pro along with some Sennheiser headset, a keyboard and mouse, to pair with my soon to be ordered XIM Apex interface which will allow me to shoot a bunch of console kiddies in the FACE!

But I still feel a bit dirty inside. As a PC gamer elitist.

Anybody switch back and forth between the platforms?

I used to love my PlayStation 2. I played a lot of GTA Vice City, Ace Combat Shattered Skies and PS 1 games on that thing. I also had my desktop too where I played BF2 and BF2142 and latter COD Modern Warfare. I was one hell of a gamer back then. Not so much anymore. I do still play a handful of games though, albeit older games. I still play BF2 with the AIX mod and I like to fly around with FSX. Once in a while I'll play C&C Generals Zero Hour on the laptop. I have never passed Vice City and I was playing that on my computer to do so, but haven't touched it now in a year or so. I guess in order to beat the game you have to get all of the medallions.

Can't get into consoles. I bought an XB1 for NHL16 and the appeal wore off quick. I've bought Rocket League and TitanFall 1 & 2, and NHL18, still can't hold my interest for more than once a week, if that. I play FPS mostly so mouse & keyboard are where it's at.

Kids use it for Roblox & Minecraft.

My last console was an Atari2600. I also had a stepson for awhile, and I played his Playstation and Sega genesis. Favorite games were Project Overkill(I think). Crash Bandicoot, and a Sonic game(can't remember specifically which).

I actually was seriously considering a console because I love lounging on the counch in front of big screen.

I did not buy because... I simply don't game enough now - PC or console.

I do wish I spent more time in the couch tough instead of sitting in a desk chair during my downtime.

Bought a PS4 quite some time back, only so I could play Fallout. Couldn't get into it and put it down after only a few weeks and have barely gamed since. I just don't enjoy it as much as I used to.

PS4 as a media device is very good though. I use it every day for Netflix/Amazon/Hulu/Spotify. Yes I know I could have gone with something much cheaper, but such is life.

My Blu-ray player does all that. LOL I probably paid less for it too.

Paid a lot for my PS3 long ago but its still going strong as a BD player and media-streaming device with frequent updates to this day so it was actually a great deal. Only real negative is lack of onboard 5ghz wifi support.

Check out the XIM APEX. It let's you use any mouse and keyboard with a console. I had the XIM2 like 6-7 years ago and it worked pretty well but this is now the 5th generation of the XIM and it's known to be the best in the business.

It's great if you just need more populated servers or to play with friends who are console users.

Have a PS4 Pro. Sony has some good exclusives. Other than that PC all the way. Wish the PS4 played 4k blurays tho.

I have a fairly loaded xbox 360 that only gets played when my grandkids are here. I just can't make the controls work right...now if I could game on it with a keyboard and mouse.........

Do it for love, like me, or at the least, for yourself.

I use to mainly PC game, as in I played Counter Strike so much I played in tournaments and played UT2k4 too much to count, and had console for local multiplayer and exclusives. But now I mainly console game. It's so much more comfortable to play reclining on a couch with a controller, not have to worry about driver updates or tweaking the game to run better. I don't have the time like I used to, I just want to sit down and relax and play. I will still play PC for RTS games or other certain exclusives when they come up, but console gaming fits into my life easier. Plus the PS4 has killer exclusives you can't get anywhere else. Plus not having to chase the next processor update or gfx card to have the latest game running well is easier on your wallet.

Anyway, I don't think I could ever get used to FPS gaming without a mouse. A configurable keyboard is fairly nice too.
I've tried a number of times, and failed. I suppose it might happen with enough play time, but I just don't feel the incentive to put in the hours required.

I still love PC gaming, but somewhere along the line I wanted to play games with friends. The PC is in another room, in which I can't hang out with my wife while I game.

Compromise, I guess.

PSVR is pretty much all I have been playing since I got it back in November. I have a PS4 Pro so the extra HP it has helps for VR. One of my most anticipated games of the year comes out tomorrow on it, Moss.

I don't know if you have messed with PC VR (I haven't as I don't game on PC and don't have a powerful PC) but PSVR has been a pleasant surprise. Farpoint with the Aim controller is one of the coolest experiences I've ever had in gaming. And Resident Evil 7 in VR is also one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
