I.E. 5.00.** Should I upgrade/patch??

Newbie to I.E......came from the darkside of 'Scrape.

This is the version that I have on my W2K SP2 install.

Should I upgrade to a newer version, or are there just security patches?

How do I upgrade?

I still use Netscape Communicator for my email.....and dialup if that matters.

I've used Netscape since at least 3.*, but finally got really tired of it crashing. Whatta ya know. I.E. never seems to crash, and, is faster.

5? oh my.... thats ancient. upgrade for stability. i use 6x now and have been for the longest time. its one of the last things to crash on my system🙂 nutscrape is about obsolete now😛

Upgrade to IE6 today. Don't forget to use Windows Update to get all the latest patches.

I use 5.01 with SP1 and SP2 on my 98SE machine and still love it.

OK, OK, OK.......but can or should I use www.windowsupdate.com ? I like the way it shows what is going to be updated.

Yeah, just choose Windows Update from your Start menu and go to town. Since you're on dial-up get ready for a wait, since your download will be >12MB most likely.
