I drink a cup of tea every morning. Peppermint normally. I have always heard that tea is good for your stomach and heart and such.

If you have food in the stomach :) Otherwise you upset the acid concentration and if the mucous lining in the stomach is weak, you can form an ulcer over time.

That's really bad for you actually if you're not equaling it with your intake of water... you're going to have kidney stones pretty fierce at that rate.

Intake of water? What do you make your coffee and tea with? Gasoline? I know in my case, the primary ingrediant of my coffee and tea is in fact - WATER.

Wow.... anyway

Tea contains high amounts of oxalates which in turn form calcium deposits / stones. Drinking water will flush this out of your system before it forms these deposits.

So the glass of coffee you are drinking which is 99% water with 1% flavoring magically isn't water anymore once it becomes "coffee"?

.....?????

Thats like saying that just because beer is 99% water, it can't deyhydrate you. Or that since salt-water is 99% water, it can't dehydrate you.

True enough, but that's largely because of the caffeine. Some people are also very sensitive to caffeine, so more acid is produced as a result.

Green tea should be less of a problem than black or even Oolongs. White tea should cause little issue, even for caffeine sensitive people.

Peppermint tea is not tea. It's tisane. No tea leaves in it. Any discussion of caffeine in tea are moot when it comes to peppermint "tea".

Actually, I think the japanese drink s**t-tons of tea on a daily basis and I'm told they have some of the longest lifespans in the world. Obviously, other factors contribute but I hear that the green tea they consume is a major contributor to their good health.

Caffeine is part of the reason i drink it in the mornings. One because i have stomach problems, and two because it wakes me up!
