Well, I have a hard time trusting those numbers. Foe example trhe latest member is Iweigh4000pounds.
I hardly ever see any more than 6-700 members logged in.
I say 50% is fake members.

Please prove me wrong!

This has been discussed before. Some users (myself included) are in favor of a cleansing to purge unused/double accounts.

I bet 10k plus of that are disgruntled members with an axe to grind that re-registered with no other intentions than to troll.

90k looks more attractive to advertisers though. ;)

I'm sure there are many people who register, ask a question and then never come back.

There are quite a few forums where I have done the same thing and people like that inflate the number of registered users.

I'm guilty of that due to lost password and wrong e-mail (entered '2' instead of '@').
My old handle is 'PoorUser'.

I have seen over 900 logged in at once. Also not everyone visits everyday or stays logged in all the time.

It took my a few years to start posting too. No biggie. For a long time I had nothing to say, or ask.
Now I'm a AT addict and eclipse my social life to check the new OT topics

JK........

I think....

Maybe they could have a log in party anounced one day or night to see just how many people do log in at one time. Of course it might crash the servers.

Hi all, i am here :) While I love to browse atot during the day, i just don't have all of the time right now to post often. I just lost my job and in the process of starting my own business. So, I guess I am one of the ones being referred to. Well then, I am checking for the day. If you would love to help out an unemployed guy who is dumping all of his money into a startup company....look at my new website (nothing fancy) and throw me some constructive criticism or ideas (or customers :D)
But that is my excuse for signing up but not posting often.......does it hold water???????

I said it before and I'll say it again.

Its nice to come back to the forums couple of months or years later and still have you account intact.

But as someone else said earlier:

It's great for advertising to have 90k+ members so a clean-up won't happen anytime soon.
I know I wouldn't :D
