This link is to a site that a family put together to try to get answers as to why their son died when he tried to shake a can out of a coke machine.... They are blaming Coke.... Why isn't the kid to blame?

It's common sense to not shake soda machines. Now if the soda machine just randomly fell down, that'd be one thing, but that machine was tampered with (shaken) to make it fall.

Those machines are amazingly heavy... they dont just tip with minor effort... its quite obvious that if you put in the effort and strength to tip or rock it, that it might just fall.. and should it fall... i know i personally wouldnt be able to hold it up... but i'd sure as hell try to not get squished...

Those things are like 700 pounds. You don't bolt something down that weighs more than most people can budge. It shouldnt have been being moved anyways. It sucks that the kid died. But it sucks that there are lots of stupid people too.

Mix in greed with grief and you have people doing incredibly illogical things

Why is it that there are no warning signs all over the road that say "Do not walk while cars driving at 50."? Why are there no signs on my kitchen knives saying "Do not cut wrists."?

It always says that you're not supposed to shake the machine. I feel sorry for the loss of life, but this is a deffinite Darwin Award... Natural Selection...

I think the vending machine, after so many abuses, finally snapped and killed the next person who shake it. This guy just happens to be the poor sap to take the grunt of the vending machine's vengeance. Case closed.

i think he was trying to have sex with the machine and he should have known better than to let the machine be on top.
