I don't understand, why can't they just push back the Super Bowl?

With the 2nd weeks football games postponed till sometime in january, I have to wonder why they just don't push back the Super Bowl a week and play week2 right now? I keep hearing that they "can't delay the Super Bowl" but I never hear why. Does it have anything to do with advertising? Personally I don't really care what they do, but I was just wondering what the big deal was with delaying the Super Bowl.

Umm, well it might be hard to re-schedule the 60,000+ hotel rooms in the city(New Orleans) for the week after, among other things. A logistical nightmare. It would be, how do they say, "Impossible".

They can't be such sissies they cant play an extra hour in 7 days.

you know I never thought of that. It still wouldn't be impossible though. I mean it's not as if the hotels would be packed for the week following the superbowl so they should be able to bump everything back a week.

There was some football analyst on the tv today and he had about 5 good reasons, I wish I could remember them.
I was thinking to myself though, boy that's a good one, I never thought of that either. All of them added up would've taken a miracle to pull off.

Pushing the Bowl back a week was option three, behind making a 15 game season and cutting a round of the playoffs.
