I don't understand - where are all these new nVidia drivers coming from?

I've seen links flying around to several newer version of GeForce drivers in the 100.xx and 101.xx range. Where are these coming from? Certainly not nVidia, they have them listed nowhere on their site and the latest available there for download are the 97.92. Are these just modded drivers that people are putting out and renaming to make them seem like official updates?

It may be a case of you looking at a different driver set.

There are special drivers for the 8800 series cards. There are different drivers for the regular GeForce cards and the 8800 series for 32bit and 64bit.

Windows Vista 32bit/64bit driver for 8800/GeForce series is 100.65 and the driver for Windows XP is 97.92

What's the deal with the XTreme-G Forceware drivers on TweaksRUs? Are they nVidia drivers tweaked for more performance or do they fix things that are broken in the nVidia drivers?

They are performance and quality tweaks.

They basically tweak the nv4disp.ini file to get both increased performance and image quality.

Any driver issues are nvidia's problem.

Try out the XTreme-G drivers and see what you think. Just make sure to install it the right way.

For you try the XG100.95 driver. It seems to work well with 8800 series users.
