here's the OP:
Hey guys, a little background here.
THe pops has a 2004 fully load Touareg V8. I love the car. Favorite SUV in the history of SUVs. IF anyone here has driven one with the 6speed tiptronic with active air-ride suspension, it's about as close a road-going German car as an SUV can get.
Before everyone gets all huffy about SUVs, please understand my father broke his neck in multiple places as a child. As a result, he can never sit with his legs out in front of him (i.e. in a car/station wagon, etc...)
Therefore, his options are limited to conversion vans, minivans, and SUVs. He chose the lattermost.
He buys a new car every year, and he's about to sell the trusty T'reg. His only complaints were that it had a few niggling little reliability problems, and that it was a little light on power.
So, I suggested the Cayanne Turbo. He's busted his ass his whoel life running his business, and I htink it's time he got a car he'll really enjoy.
I personally prefer the styling ont eh BMW X5 4.6is, but I've driven them, and to be hoenst (get ready to flame), the suspension did not feel nearly as well-sorted as on the Toureg's Active Air suspension set to "sport."
The Cayanne has a sportier version of the T'reg's air suspension, plus the 450hp and 0-60 in 5.2 secs is very nice. The styling is hideous, yes. That, however, can be lived with.
So I guess my question here is, for my dad, who enjoys a well-handling car, but for hte most part loves mashing the throttle on highways, how does the Cayanne Turbo fare? What would you get if given the choice between the BMW 4.6is and Cayanne Turbo?
