We all know that the 2005 FPW is 1680x1050. How come when I set it in game to 1280x768, it takes up the same width as 1680? It goes to full screen width but does the proper crop for top and bottom😕

You have the monitor and/or video card drivers set to scale the resolution. If you want to see 1280x768 1:1 with bars on all sides, you have to set the drivers to output 1280x768 and set the monitor to "1:1" mode.
 
It stretches the image. You can set how the output will be displayed in your video card settings to either stretch or display it in actual pixels with a border around the edges.
