...and the people that do really make me mad.

It happens all the time on here. Sometimes I will call people out on it but most of the time I just shake my head. Why lie about something stupid on here? First off no one cares. If they do care, its only because you are lying about it and they want to call you out.

But then there is the real world. I don't have any "friends" that do it because I refuse to associate with people who lie. But at work we have a couple of people who constantly lie. Its never about anything important either. Its always about stupid things that they supposedly had done or seen. Again..no one cares except that they are annoyed that you are lying.

Can someone please explain to me why people lie about stupid things that are not important? I understand lying to cover your ass. I understand lying to try to impress a chick or an employer. I don't agree with them but I understand them. I just can't wrap my mind around people that make up stupid stories or lie about the stupidest things.
 
Ever notice how liars seem to forget parts of their lies...and that's usually what gets them caught?

Just tell the damned truth...it's easier to remember.
 
I hear ya man. I've got the story of stories concerning just this thing. Can't post it now though. Gotta give the Super Model Wife a good-bye shag, drop the Lambo off for service, then take the jet to Milan for a suit fitting.

I change insignificant details when relaying stories about my work or personal life online to protect the innocent and give myself some plausible deniability should my profile ever be discovered by someone I know IRL.
 
I don't lie about stuff on my own initiative. That is to say, if I just walk up to you and tell you something, it's true. If you initiate a line of conversation I don't want to be in, ask me to do something I don't want to do, or ask me something that I think is none of your business, I'll lie to you in a heartbeat though. I've tried the blunt truth before, and it rarely works as well as a good white lie.

As a tall, buff, good looking rich man whose hair is merely good but not great, I'm jealous.

Luckily, my billions and billions of dollars do seem to compensate for hair that is not perfect.

I also wish I could get married, but there are so many supermodels vying for my time and attention that I've never been able to decide on just one.

It would be more accurate to say "Life is based on deception".

Every now and then I hear people complain about how they "just could have saved themselves a lot of drama by talking about it" But historically while everyone claims to want the truth, only a small minority of people actually means it. Bring your concerns to people in a respectable and mature manner and most will resent you for it, often now being more wary of your opinions and more on guard to any move you may make against them if you're unable to resolve an issue by talking about it. It's kind of like the mob. The people looking to kill you greet you as friends. 😛
 
Yup people are douches. Own up to your life and your decisions.

I think lies come down to pride, ignorance, and trying to one up the other person. And not wanting to take responsibility. Wanting to fit in to much and the fear of others gossiping against you.

It's really pathetic how lying is just second nature and seems acceptable to everyone. It's a weak character flaw.

that's why i have a bunch of estates all over the world. that way when i get tired of one girl i go on vacation to enjoy other beautiful supermodels and actresses.

I do not lie. Never lie. I hate people who lie. When telling the truth, you are true, real inside. Lie will be evident sooner or later. I think that people who lie constantly have really problems.

Yup I see massive drama that women I know cause from all their lies. Seems women lie the most to be honest. Especially the attractive ones. If they get caught or fights start they just move on to some new guy. It's easier when you're attractive.
 
Not all liars do it on purpose though.

Some people who lie, have told/said the lie enough they see it as true and reality. So to them they do not feel they are lying.

Some people believe something is true based on the information they heard and believe them to be facts (Just look at P&N for this alllll the time.) and thus believe it true even though its more projection and only partially true.

Some people cannot be willing to tell the truth and instead use a white lie. Either to spare the feelings for someone, or whatever.
