I wear $250+ pants/jeans because they don't have 'the fit' with cheaper US sold jeans. European stuff also just looks more elegant.

Bingo same here I've never spent $250 on jeans though. Thats a little to much. I usually get some Diesels, Paper Denim or True Religions for a little less then that. Sometimes they have the high end brands at the discount stores like Off Saks 5th or Nordstroms Rack for less then $100.

on the flip side, I'm sure a lot of people out there could ask, how can anyone spend $150+ on a 74gig HDD.
I mean to us, they're just pants. I'm happy with my sub $15 pants from Gap or Old Navy. Some people out there needs the status of wearing some $100 jeans. they want the bragging rights. Like this one time a girl in my class was talking about her jeans and sh1t, some guy said "Seven" and she was like "oh, I'm surprised you've even heard of it."
Just as if you were the first one out of your friends to reach a terabyte of storage. something like that.

Kinda different in that there's a lot of expensive R&D that goes into designing a chipset and testing it and writing drivers, updating production lines for new chip layouts, etc.
These are pieces of cloth held together with thread.
