I was at the gym this morning and watched a girl go around to 5 different machines and do a single set of about 4 or 5 reps on each one before wiping it down and moving on. I think the machine portion of her workout was about 5 minutes long total

did you make sure to stare at her the whole time?

maybe she finished the bulk of her workout with a shakeweight.

I saw this super fat lady climbing up the stairs at the gym once. She probably worked out harder than everyone else before even starting her workout. Bench press 100 lbs? Try dragging 400lbs up a flight of stairs!

I know a girl who does a workout sort of like that. She'll do 10 reps on 5 or so machines. After that doing that a few times a week for a year, she has some pretty nice biceps. It must be enough for toning and minor muscle growth.

At least be happy that she is wiping it down. And people have different priorities with working out, maybe she just got started and she's figuring out how all the machines work and what she likes.

Reminds me of some people I know... They talk and gloat about "going to the gym" like it's a social place. It doesn't matter if you run 20 Km on the dirty useles street or on a treadmill at home, or that you're already bulked up from working at home - no, unless you pay your $200 gym fees and "go to the gym", honey, you ain't got shit...

Are you sure she wasn't circuit training? I guess 5 reps is really too low for that to be the case, though.

Quite often someone from another gym or exercise equipment manufacturer will come to a gym to quickly try out the various equipment.

What gets me are the girls who are using whatever machine to lift just one plate, and you can see that there's no effort on her part involved.

Yep. Every time she moved machines I moved to the one next to it and stared at her through my binoculars

Shortest darn circuit training I've ever seen. Maybe its a new 5 minute work out fad that is guaranteed to help you lose weight. Continue eating whatever you want and just work out for 5 minutes every other March and you'll be fit and trim in no time!

Not everyone goes to the gym to move as much weight as possible in as short an amount of time as possible although this sounds a little silly even to me.
