I don't think my PSU will be able to handle this system

And of course, a floppy drive.

I didn't want to buy a new psu, my current one is an Antec 300w. I heard I'll need 450w to run this, can anyone comment?

Nonsense. Your Antec 300w will run your system just fine.

Why not try it out first before going out and buying a new ps? Sometimes, PS's will surprise you. For instance, I have a 110w ps in my micro-atx case that's running the following:

amd k6-3+ 600 w/fan
256mb pc133
ati rage pro
ibm 120gxp
32x cd-rom
zip drive
awe64
fast ethernet card
56k modem
parallel-port camera/usb printer/usb cf reader/serial-port pda connection
floppy

No crashes and everything runs stable. Sometimes, you never know. Try it out first on your 300w ps. If it works, you just saved yourself some money. If it doesn't, just buy a new ps - shouldn't be hard to swap in the new one.

Okay.. I'll trust your opinion, I've just heard that pairing an Athlon XP with a GF4 results in disaster for psus.

I'll try it, I'm just afraid of it damaging my system (Im not worried if the PSU dies) or resulting in a nuclear explosion or something.

Thanks.

I had an Antec 300 on my 1900, it worked but after installing my new 450w PC Power Turbo Cool it made a hudge difference.
Runs rock stable and oc/ing goes much higher.
A 450w is highly recomended in my opinion

SEYBA THAT IS TRUE...The GF4 and amd cpu will both be using the 3.3v/5v rail so the power supply needs to be strong there...

Look at the specs for the PS...how much amps on the 3.3v/5v rail...how much max combined wattage???

I honestly have no idea because I am very inexperienced in this area and very dumb. My mommy said so.

PP303x * +5V and 3.3V combined output: 160Watts max.

PP303xp * +5V and 3.3V combined output: 180 Watts max.
