They force you to wait for 2 minutes when its only about 30 seconds worth of text.

Also: "The program is free of race, ethnic, and gender stereotypes. It is presented at or below a sixth grade reading level."

That does not make me feel better at all.

ok, it actually was educational.

In the state of virginia you are allowed to pay a small one time fee for the privilege of NOT having insurance.

This would explain all the illegals on the roads out here.

Seriously?

Got back from a 6 day trip to Virginia visiting family recently. The drivers on the East side of the state, specifically in the Williamsburg area really blew my mind. Every lane change was done like it was a Nascar race. 10 or 15 over the limit was the norm. Squeezing into tiny spaces in fast moving traffic with no turn signals and the best was that in the 6 days that we were there, we saw four people run red lights. Not lights that turned red as they went through, lights that had been red. Just flew right through them with their foot on the accelerator.

Running reds is a serious problem in NOVA and it scares the hell out of me. I've personally witnessed the occurrence of 3 accidents, and driven past dozens in my short time here.

"Virginia law supports the use of "red-light" cameras to give motorists citations for running red lights. However, counties, cities, and towns may operate cameras at no more than one intersection for every 10,000 residents; use requires a local ordinance."

Unless manassas has 1 million residents they are WAY over the limit.

Some of them probably don't record or report data all the time.

That is bad. How do you get money off people when they hit your car?

2 minutes isn't bad. Think last time I took it in CA it was like 10-20 minutes wait per page at the site I went through. Just copy the whole page, paste it into word and watch tv or play a game until you can proceed then repeat. Ctrl + F the final exam.

Used to be able to do the whole thing in about 20 minutes with that method before the timers, that's why they made the laws to force it to take you a minimum of 6 hours or something.

more info:

Virginia allows refusal of the breathalyzer, but you automatically lose your license for one year.
Not for committing a crime, you just lose it.

You can also ask for something called an alcosense test and the cop has to give it to you. If you pass he's supposed to let you go.
I doubt thats how it happens in reality.

Apparently the ignition interlock system can randomly retest you WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING.
If you refuse or fail the thing sets off your alarms and freaks the fuck out.

Better to refuse then get a DUI.

did you try turning off javascript? thats always worked for me in bypassing the timers, except for the ones with videos and interactive questions.

Lane splitting is illegal for motorcycles in Virginia. Cops don't enforce it, but that's the law.

Bicycles are required to follow all the same rules of the road as cars, including signs.
That law doesnt get enforced either.
