I don't think Eudora live up to Outlook Express

I was sick and tired of OE always crashing and how it doesn't always successfully d/l emails from my POP3 accounts (I get messages such as "OE cannot connect to mail.yahoo.com..blah blah blah). So I turned to Eudora 5...it's a lot more stable and it rarely gives me crap about inability to connect to servers. But there are a few but severe shortcomings...or I at least I think there are shortcomings since I can't find a way to:

1) add different POP3 accounts. I'm using yahoo as my spam account and mailandnews.com as my personal email account. but as far I know, I can only have one account with eudora. I cannot find an option which lets me use both email accounts.

2) I want to add different identities as in OE. For example, 2 people us this computer and I can add different logins with OE, but with Eudora, I can't find a way. Also, I don't know how to set pw so someone else can easily launch eudora and read my emails.

Can anyone else verify lack of those features above in Eudora or is it because I just haven't found the feature yet?

You just haven't found the features yet.

For the first question, what you need to do is set up different "personalities" each personality access a different mail server and/or with different userid's ect. Read the help for more info on this matter.

For the second question, I've seen it done, but since I'm the only one using my computer, I've never done it. There are option settings dealing with passwords that you may want to play with also.

You might consider this. I use BOTH Eudora Pro 5.X and OE 5.5. I download all my mail and read it in Eudora. Mainly because I find it a better mail manager.

I compose and send most of my mail in OE5.5 because it has HTML capabilities in e-mail that Eudora just can't match (Embedded animated stationery, GIF animations, and embedded background sound via MIDI files.)

I do this by splitting the screen vertically and having OE on the left and EP on the right. I can drag and drop between them for reply "barfbacks."

Eudora has "personalities" while OE has "identities." They function the same way.
