I don't see a reason to upgrade, as of now.

Got an iPhone 4 since July/August... this does everything I want fine. Sure, it could be even faster(it loads webpages pretty fast for me) or have even higher resolution(beyond my eye sight probably) or be even thinner or have a nicer camera or whatever... but it's a pretty sweet phone still. :/

I just don't see how they can upgrade it in a significant way other than changing that antenna shit. Not like it matters, the thing is too fucking smooth to have without a case for me... Flys out of my pockets and hands if I don't have the case on.

What about you?

I'm going to be upgrading to Apple's new installment of the iPhone this year, mainly because I have had a 3GS for over 14 months now.

The main question I asked myself when the iPhone 4 was released was: Why would you want to upgrade your phone each year? Surely I could live with the current specifications of my phone.

Considering Apple, they usually still support the previous generations of iPhones and only expect you to upgrade once every 2 years.

It's 'whatever floats your boat' really.

Well with the previous iPhones there was definitely some stuff missing to me. This one seems to have everything. :/ I don't see much room for improvement.

Yup, upgrade every 2 years.

Same here. Still have the 3GS. I'm waiting for the iPhone5. Hopefully, it'll have a better camera, faster processor, have more storage, better battery life, etc...

Better camera... maybe. The one on the iPhone4 is pretty good already, though if they could cram in actual zoom or shutter that would be wicked.

Faster CPU... either that or a dual core is my guess

More storage... the iPhone only has room for 1 NAND chip, and I don't think that 64GB NAND is available in sufficient quantities. Bear in mind that this quote is a couple of years old, but at one point I recall seeing that Apple alone was using 25% of the world's NAND.

Better battery life... almost certainly, they manage to do this with almost every thing they sell.

and it's the little things that make it all worthwhile to the masses 😉

What would a shutter add to the camera except a sound? (I don't really understand the purpose of shutters since it's electronic these days) Zoom yeah... that would be nice. Maybe better focusing.

More storage would be nice. I could easily fill this thing up with music if I tried. More battery life... definitely.

But really, this thing does a pretty good job as it is for me right now.

iPhone 3GS I wouldn't be able to stand, but an iPhone 4? I don't see how they'll make it much better. I'm expecting something like an iPhone 4S with barely any improvements. Maybe they'll put better graphics in it or something.

My current phone has a 1GHZ CPU with 512MB RAM. The computer that got me through high school (which was less than 10 years ago) was 900MHz and 256MB RAM. It is hard to directly correlate dual core and single core (a 1GHz Dual != 2GHz Single) but I had a 1.8GHz single core in college (OCd to 2.4) with 1GB RAM. We are not that far from something like a 1.4GHz Dual core phone, heck the new Moto Atrix has a 1.2GHz Dual (I think it was 1.2, it may have been 1.0) and 1GB RAM.
