I don't like this Iomega 12x10x32-

I bought this thinking that maybe ide is getting better so I yanked out my Plextor 8x20 (Imation) scsi in favor of a 12x10x32 ide drive. You would think that it would be just as good or whatever. I have noticed quite a bit of slowdown while I am burning with my new Iomega. Is this because this is ide?
I think I'm gonna get rid of this thing...

muffstah,I have the EXACT same thoughts as you. except I have a real plextor cdr scsi, not a rebadged imation one. hehe. Whenever I burn, my comp lags a little which sux. Wonder what I shold do with it...

LAG WHILE...BURNING?

My drive lags at the end right before ... it says burning is complete.

Make sure the operating system has DMA turned on for the drive. It may help.

scsi RULES! If you already had the 8x20, why get this? the less on the IDE, the better i say. i'm happy w/ my imation, don't plan on (or can afford) getting a new one anytime soon.
