i'm not a huge fan of my ipod (10 gb windows version with the long ass wire remote). i want a new mp3 device that -must- have the following features:

1) fm radio
2) 10+ GB storage
3) long battery life (longer the better, but a minimum of say 6-7 hours of constant use)
4) good playlist management

any suggestions?

thanks :)

Wow you are one of the few people I have heard of not liking the Ipod. I have a friend with the Zen and he really likes it.

I have both a 10GB iPod and the Archos JBMM. I love the Archos. It's not as portable as the iPod, but it's a great device. It has pretty much everything the iPod has (though somewhat clumsier) plus MPEG-4 video on a GREAT screen, video out through composite video-out, firewire and/or USB 1.1 and/or USB 2.0, smart and flash card reading and download, camera/video, works as a portable HDD, audio recording. As an MP3 player it's good, but when you consider all the extras, it's fantastic. The trade off is size (about twice the volume as an iPod) and lack of specialization. It doesn't take the best pictures, best recordings, requires components for card reading and firewire/USB 2.0, etc. Still, at around $350 with firewire and camera and card readers (shopharmony), it's a deal. Battery life is around 8 hours or more for music, much less for video, maybe 2-4 hours.

I use my iPod on short trips (to work, errands) and the Archos everywhere else.
