This is after two formats and many many many virus scans, I always end up with viruses, I've tried kaspersky, norton, AVG, antivir and many adware/spybot scans with ccleaner, but still viruses and computer freezes. I'm using kasperky's + AVG's firewalls.

Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure you have a firewall and know how to use it. Make sure everything you install is scanned before you add it, scan external hard drives and usb thumb drives. Stop searching the web for free porn. Keep windows updated, don't use outlook, and switch to Firefox.

Two formats and you still have viruses? You mean they come back after a while, or do they never leave?

You're not using Internet Explorer are you?

Which ones specifically?

Is a problem of one virus infecting multiple files or multiple viruses affecting many files?

How certain are you that it is a virus problem?

It could possibly defective RAM or a failing power supply. Both of which can contribute to system instability and lockups.

1) do not use two antivirus programs at once. If you have a legit Kaspersky license, definitely use Kaspersky.

2) if you have broadband, get a router if you don't have one already.

3) set up Kaspersky for maximum protection: http://www.mechbgon.com/build/kaspersky.html <-- instructions. Schedule a nightly scan. Nevar turn off the real-time protection. ???. Profit.

4) don't browse the Internet using an Administrator account, regardless of your web browser. Make a new Admin-class account that you use only when you need Admin powers for something, and switch your existing account to a Limited account. Watch the malware beat its head helplessly against the bars of the cage

5) avoid warez, cracks, serials, etc. Common delivery vehicles for malware.

What viruses are you having detected, by the way?

Are you saying even after a format and fresh install of Windows, even without going online, you still have the viruses? If so, do you have more than one partition? Are they boot viruses?

I think #5 is probably the main source of infection for teenagers (+ gamehacks) from what I have seen. Although music sharing and IM could certainly be added to the mix.
