I was getting 50C idle and 53C full load so I decided to try a few things. First, I took my copper shim and cut a piece out of it about a half a inch to a inch so heat could escape. Then I raised the fan up off the heatsink under a half a inch. Lastly, I did a bit of sanding to the heatsink but not even close to a mirror finish.
Now I get around 46-47c idel and 50c full load.
