I'm switching to an adsl line, from a dialup connection, I am also changing ISP's in the process. My question is, what do I do about my email addy? do I have to email everyone who has my old addy, to give them my new one, (when I get it), or is there some sort of E-mail forwarding or change of address thingy I can hook up?

Thanks guy, and again, sorry if this is on the wrong board;)

YOUR IP address makes no difference. Is your ADSL line from the same ISP/company that you had your dialup from? If not, you'll have to e-mail everyone your new address...

Some ISPs will offer email forwarding but many do not. Check with your old ISP. It will also be worth your while to keep your old ISP for a month or two so you don't miss old email and to give you a dial up connection until the bugs (if any) are worked out of your DSL connection. Also, does your old ISP offer an email only account? I'm keeping around at old ISP email only account simply because I've had the address for over 8 years and everybody knows it.
