the drinking and the partying was okay.. for a while
the clubbing scene isn't bad but it's not how it used to be
I thought I enjoyed gathering around with people and talking over drinks
maybe it's the type of group that I'm around now that makes it such a dull boring event
I miss close friends... and my family
I would rather go to a PC cafe by myself and play games or something... how sad is that

I was never into the clubbing scene - I only did it so I could meet women and hang out with friends.

Now that I am married with kids, I never go clubbing - drinking yes, clubbing no.

I have found other ways to entertain myself: poker, pickup hockey and basketball, drinking with the rugby boys and I still do play some vids, but very few anymore.

pick up a hobby. Construct a nice home theater that you can invite buddies over for a good time!

I feel your pain. After college I quickly bored of club scenes. I lost a lot of my friends too and only have 3-4 close friends now. Ever since moving to Atlanta I've become a concert junkie. I missed out on a lot of concerts my earlier years so I'm taking advantage of it now. Concerts, movies, and just chill bars every other weekend. Oh and my fiancee is fun to hang out with too... sex is good.

I am a big fan of just hanging out. I like social gatherings a lot, just hanging out doing crap. Clubs/bars are okay. get some friends over and play video games. meet some new people at a pc cafe or something.

i dunno. once you get out of college i hear it gets hard.

heh if you just moved to DC and haven't been out a lot in DC, there are SSSOOO many places to go and party. but yah if you just aren't into that i understand. i am not big on going to clubs or bars in DC anymore, been doing it for like 5 years now. i only enjoy going when it's for someone's bday or something.

Going out for a night of drinking with friends is fun every once in a while. It does get old. I don't know how people do this as often as they do.
Clubs are always boring as far as I'm concerned.

And who cares how you like to have fun. Why feel compelled to drink/party? I've never understood that. So many younger people feel like if they're not out getting drunk on the weekends then they're antisocial. What's wrong with just going to the coffee shop with friends/family, reading a book, and just having a conversation with the people you care about?

When I'm in my hometown I go out with my mother, brother and sister-in-law on the weekends. We could be doing anything from cooking out to just floating around on the lake doing nothing and I'd still have a great time. Surround yourself with the people you like and don't worry about the tangential nonsense.

Basically I read, play Battlefield 2, and program.

Hey, that sounds like fun (and not that far from what I often do--although I haven't played BF2 in a while) :D

Social networking for professional or personal reasons? If the former there are a hell of a lot better venues for such things.

And btw, by tangential nonsense I was referring to his worrying about not having fun.
